The Minister for Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, advisor to turn to India tomorrow to represent Pakistan in the ‘Heart of Asia Conference “.
The heart of the two-day Asia Conference begins in Indian city of Amritsar on Saturday (today), and it will focus mainly on the situation in Afghanistan.
According to the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Pakistan attend the Heart of Asia conference because of its commitment to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The 6th Ministerial Conference will be held on Sunday.
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates (UAE) is part of the heart of Asia, an initiative launched in 2011 to encourage economic and security cooperation between Afghanistan and its neighbors to deal with the common problems of terrorism and extremism and poverty.
Six key areas in which the state imposed a 14 confidence-building measures since the 2013 Almaty meeting is disaster management, counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics, and regional trade, investment and infrastructure, and education.
It supports the process by 17 other state, mostly in the West, and 12 international organizations, also sent high-level representatives.
