A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Council common interests and agreed on Friday to start the sixth census of Pakistan in March 15, 2017.
Chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the council, which was attended by all the chief ministers’ meeting.
During the meeting it decided that the census will be carried out in close coordination between local governments and that there would be a committee of statistics minister and four Chief Secretary to address all implementation issues.
Participants at the meeting agreed that the inclusion of the house and the process of the census can be carried out at once, and may the census in two phases contract.
And can execute each stage in all provinces at the same time, they agreed.
Earlier in the week, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics issued a gazette notification will be carried out, saying the sixth general census of population and housing in the country in March and April of next year, after a delay of eight years.
Notification was issued after the inauguration of the Supreme Court Suu moto notice of the delay in the implementation process is much needed, and ordered him in these months.
The decennial census delayed since 2008. The last census was held in 1998, after a seven year delay.
