Prices of Petrol & Diesel increasing day by day
In what appears to be commonplace on the basis of the past few weeks, and the high prices of petroleum products announced again by the government. Both gasoline prices and high-speed diesel rose (HSD) by Rs. 1 per liter.
Oil and kerosene oil, light diesel prices (LDO), however, remain the same at the moment.
The revised prices
We are seeing an increase of Rs. 1 liter, the price of gasoline will go from Rs. 70.29 per liter to Rs. 71.29 per liter.
It has also been increasing prices of high- speed diesel by Rs. 1 per liter, making a new price of Rs 80.48 per liter, up from Rs. 79.48.
Kerosene oil prices remained unchanged at Rs. 43.25 per liter.
Light diesel oil prices also will remain at Rs. 43.35 per liter.
The new prices will be effective from February 16 (today) to February 28.
OGRA in the high prices proposed
At the press conference held by the Minister of Finance, Ishaq Dar, it was brought to light that the Ministry of Petroleum and OGRA has recommended initially an increase of Rs 1.91 pet liter in petrol price and Rs. 2.03 liter in HSD prices, Rs. 16.7 1 liter in the price of kerosene and Rs. 12.53 per liter in the price of diesel.
But in order to provide relief to the public, taking into account the fact that both kerosene and LDO are used by low-income segments of society, has been maintained on the prices of both, at least until the end of this month. As a result of this, the government will bear the burden of Rs. 3 billion for not raising the price of oil as recommended by OGRA.
