Lahore: Shakir Munir, international relations manager and goal keeping coach of Oman hockey Association is one of those overseas Pakistanis who are making the nation proud with their performance.
This young coach from Lahore has been recently awarded the appreciation & best performance achievement award by Asian Hockey Federation at the closing of “HERO Asian hockey champions trophy” in Muscat, Oman.
Under secretary Ministry of Sports Affairs Oman His Excellency Rashad Al Hinai presented this award to Shakir Munir in recognition of successfully organising the event.
The Chief ExecutiveAsian hockey federation Dato’ Tayyab Ikram was also present at the ceremony.
Shakir has been associated with oman hockey team as goal keeping coach and international relations manager for more than six years. He has been active involved in promoting sports activities and organising sports events in Oman.
On returning home,Shakir appreciated & applauses the vision of Dato’ Tayyab Ikram The Chief Executive of Asian hockey federation for the promotion of the game in Asia under his leadership and his team and Thanking him for recognizing his efforts.
He also thanks the Chairman Oman Hockey Association “Captain Talib Khamis Al Wahaibi” for his support & trust on my ability. He also acknowledged his colleagues for cooperating and making the event successful.
He said AHF award while made him proud it also put more responsibility on his shoulders to work even more hard in future and make his homeland proud.
