Sharjah : Chris Jordan rips apart Maratha Arabians’ defence to secure 43-run win for Punjabi Legends in T10 League match.

Punjabi Legends’ Chris Jordan rips apart Maratha Arabians’ batting order by taking four wickets for six runs that helped the Punjabi Legends restricts the Maratha Arabians to 78 all out with four balls to spare in the 2nd Season of the T10 League – the world’s largest formal ten-over international cricket tournament – at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

The fifth match of the tournament ended with less fanfare as the Maratha Arabians’ battling line continue to struggle amid continued pounding by Punjabi Legends’ focussed attack in which Zahir Khan took three for eight runs that triggered the collapse and saw the Maratha Arabians struggling at 44 for 4 at one point of time and kept on losing wickets regularly.

Alex Hales with 32 off 18 balls and Nazibullah Zadran with 17 runs barely managed to stand against the powerful bowling line of Punjabi Legends. The much talked about Rashid Khan flopped in both bat and bowl and was out without scoring and without any wicket.

Earlier, Punjabi Legends scored 121 for six in their stipulated ten overs, putting up a fighting score, powered by Umar Akmal’s quick-fire 31 off 18 balls while Shaiman Anwar hit two sixes and three boundaries to add 25 off 11 balls to pose a strong challenge to the Maratha Arabians.

Among the Maratha Arabian bowlers, Gleeson picked up three wickets by giving away 11 runs while Zahoor Khan picked up two for 29 runs. The Maratha lead bowler Rashid Khan gave away 15 runs without any siccess.

T10 League is the world’s first and currently the only professional ten-over format international cricket league backed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC), governing body of international cricket.

The 2018 edition scheduled to start from November 21 and spread over 12 days, will have 29 matches as compared to a 4-day event in 2017. To meet this new challenge and also to keep the event clean, the T10 League management has made many positive changes to bolster the execution and operations of the 2018 T10 League tournament.
